Who's stupid now?

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=4352430&page=1

This is a story that should have parents around the country outraged. Especially those directly affected by this. The most proposterious aspect of this, isn't so much what the "teacher" (I put it in quotes because she doesn't deserve the title) said...rather the fact that the school district has really done nothing about this. Sure, they've reassigned her. Reassign her OUT THE DOOR. This woman was BEYOND "out of line" on this and should have been fired immediately. Her outburst was caught on tape...I don't see any need for any further investigation. She was caught, she made statements that never should have been made...end of story.

It's important to remember this lady was talking to 4-year-olds. This absolutely uncalled for, and the ONLY solution to this, is for this lady to hit the unemployment line. Period.

William F. Buckley, Jr.

Today is a sad day for conservatives across the nation, as we mourn the loss of a man that could easily be deemed "The father of modern conservatism". Buckley, at age 29, started the National Review that would go on to become one of the most reveered conservative publications.

When liberalism was on the rise (quite rapidly, I might add), William F. Buckley, Jr. fought for conservatism. Something he did until he died this morning at his home after battling emphysema.

Rush Limbaugh often spoke of Buckley, referring to him as his mentor and hero. I think Rush speaks for most of us (conservatives) when he refers to Buckley in such a manner. For, were it not for William F. Buckley Jr., who's to say if we'd have been fortunate enough to call Ronald Reagan, Mr. President.

A conservative author/columnist that I have a great respect for is Jonah Goldberg. I think Jonah sums everything up quite nicely in his post at http://www.nationalreview.com/ ... I've pasted it here.

"Saying Goodbye"
-Jonah Goldberg

"I just saw Kathryn's post about Bill Buckley. I'm stunned. He will be greatly missed. But we should also remember this was not a life cut tragically short (no matter how much we wish he were still with us). His accomplishments were almost incalculable. As George Will once said, "before there was Ronald Reagan there was Barry Goldwater, before there was Goldwater there was National Review, and before there was National Review there was William F. Buckley." As conservatives — and as Americans — we are all standing on his shoulders.

Moreover, William F. Buckley's life was marked by enormous joy. He had a lust for life as well as for letters and debate. He raised a wonderful and accomplished son, loved and was loved by a formidable and beautiful wife, had more friends than he could count — or, in a sense, even know — and will be remembered for generations to come. Sadness is to be expected at times like this, and I certainly feel it. But let's leave room for, if not a celebration, then at least grateful appreciation, of a singularly remarkable life."

Godspeed Mr. Buckley. You will be truly missed.

Attention Ron Paul Bots...Alert to level Defcon 3

http://lonestartimes.com/2008/02/26/rpcq1/

Uh oh...and for once...a Peden majority in comments. Wait...could this be happening? Really? I'm trying to contain my excitement.

This goes to show exactly what can happen when you launch a campaign to run for the highest office in the country, and the most powerful man in the world. All of a sudden, you're incredibly boring record as a congressman, and all the untruths that you've been able to pass off for so long, all of a sudden, become public knowledge.

I believe this to be a devastating blow to the Paul Bots. Newspapers can't print this fast enough.

It seems as though I may not be the only one that sees something brewing on the horizon.

Chris Peden for Congress!

Candidates Forum...Once again...Ron Paul a "no show"

Last night in Victoria, The League of Women Voters and the Victoria Television Group hosted a Political Candidates Forum. This allowed all the candidates an opportunity to meet and debate issues in front of voters before the March 4th primary.

I'll be completely honest for a second...I've only been in Victoria for 7 or 8 months, so the LENGTHY debates between all the candidates for County Commissioner didn't amount to a whole lot for me...mainly because I'm not aware of the issues on which they were so fervently debating. It did strike me as odd though, that there are 6 people running against an incumbent. It doesn't take much to assume...something...somewhere...obviously went wrong.

Then...the constable race...my precinct's constable is running unopposed.

So my main focus, and the entire purpose for me going last night was the US Congressional Race for the 14th Congressional District. This is turning into quite the political race. Ron Paul is the incumbent and has been Congressman for the 14th District now for 10 years. However, I believe that people are starting to realize its time to oust a "Do-nothing" Congressman like Paul, and replace him with a true candidate that has a track record of getting things accomplished. Dr. Paul's opponent (if you've read my other blogs here or on my other sites...you already know) is prominent businessman/CPA Chris Peden.

I believe, in the midst of a political race, endorsements mean a tremendous amount and carry an enormous weight. Something I find interesting is the fact that a majority of Sheriff's throughout Dr. Paul's district have endorsed Chris Peden. One of whom, Victoria County Sheriff T. Michael O'Connor. Not to mention, The Galveston County Daily News and the Victoria Advocate. People in and around the city of Victoria talk about how much Victorians support Dr. Paul, however, I believe the opposite is proving true...and rightfully so.

Dr. Paul stated during a talk radio interview that his Congressional Race is his "Plan B". An obvious reference to his Presidential bid. This seems all to convenient to me. Allow me to translate this so it makes a little more sense..."To everyone contributing to my Presidential campaign...please continue to do so...so I can make an attempt at funding a Congressional Race that would otherwise be doomed." The only people he could have possibly been talking to are his Presidential Campaign finance contributors...why else would you make a statement like that to the people of the 14th Congressional District you have vowed to represent?

I have no doubt that Ron Paul was a great OB/GYN, and the fact that he delivered 4,000 babies is fantastic. What I want to know is why does that automatically make him qualified to run for Congress or President? Apparently his campaign believes this, because they put it in ALL of his political ads. They obviously believe this is something the voters should definitely take into consideration...again I ask...why?

When I'm looking for a political candidate, I want someone that is available to me, a constituent. I want someone that will take the time to listen to what I have to say, and more importantly give me a response. Some sort of communication that tells me he is on my side and working for me. Because, that's what it all amounts to. Members of the House and Senate work for us, their constituents. This is a fact that I believe Dr. Paul missed. If he hasn't missed it, he obviously doesn't understand it.

Last night there was a forum for the voters to meet the candidates...did Ron Paul show? No. Just like he has failed to show MANY times throughout his 10 year term as Congressman for the 14th Congressional District.

Dr. Paul was quick to jump to the defense of the voters saying they deserved to hear from him during the Presidential Debates...stating that he believed the voters were cheated. Dr. Paul, what about your voters at home. By not showing up last night, Dr Paul, you proved to me that the Congressional race IS in fact, your "Plan B" and it just wasn't important enough to warrant your presence.

It's no secret. I support Chris Peden 100%. He's a conservative that understands the importance of protecting the 2nd Amendment. He's a conservative that has vowed to ACTUALLY VOTE CONSERVATIVELY. Chris Peden is a small government conservative that understands to truly generate an economic boost/economic growth period...it takes putting money back in the pockets of the tax payers...the people who are going to go out and spend the money to generate the economy.

It's time for true conservative results...for a change. A conservative that will fight to get legislation ACTUALLY passed...something Dr. Paul has NEVER been able to do. So when you go into the voting booth on March 4th (or by Feb 29 if you vote early) vote for a guy that is going to put the "REPRESENT" back in "Representative" and give you and I, our voices back. As always..."this plus $1.50..."

Uh oh...this could be really bad

Yesterday, I did my civic duty and I voted. For the first time, however, I left the voting booth disappointed. There are several reasons why I was disappointed, but I can honestly say the MAIN reason for my disappointment is a LACK of disappointment from everyone else.
Anyone that knows anything about me, knows I'm about as conservative as they come. However, during this primary, I was forced to vote for someone that I would have never in a million years considered voting for. I found myself staring at the electronic ballot debating with myself; trying to find the "lesser of the evils". This is, in and of itself, a MAJOR problem. When the best candidate for President isn't on the ballot and we're forced to choose between the person who is most likely to do "the least damage", I believe our election system has failed us, the voters.

Speaking of the voters, where are the conservatives? As a conservative myself it really bothers me that our "voice is being silenced", not by the liberals, but by our own omission.
Ladies and Gentlemen, you're next, OUR next, President is Barack Obama. This should be sending conservatives up the wall, and its not. Why? Why is it that when you ask an Obama supporter "why do you support him?" they can't answer with anything other than 1. He's a great speaker, or 2. He's motivating, or 3. He wants change. The same people saying this are against the Bush Tax Cuts and Rebates because "the government doesn't have the money to give back to the people." Have you forgotten THAT IS OUR MONEY? That money was ours first. We gave it to the government, they're giving it back to us! Why turn this away? And above and beyond that...give them more of what they're already taking? How will less money in the pockets of the American People boost the economy? If you can't pay your mortgage now...what makes you think giving more money to the government will make it easier?

People are comparing Obama to FDR. Which in a lot of ways, Obama is presenting the next "New Deal". FDR is often credited as the "Greatest President in the history of our Nation". My question is...if he was SO GREAT, why did Congress CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION immediately following his death? Making it certain that NO ONE would EVER be in power as long as FDR?

To John McCain...the New York Times is painting you in the midst of an "intern scandal". Are you surprised? It's the New York Times. I'm reminded of an old fable...

"The weather was getting cold. The farmer was worried about his sheep in the high pastures. Wrapping his wool cloak tightly about himself, he braved the wind and climbed the steep path. As he started back down the path, hurrying to get into his warm house, the farmer saw a snake lying across the path.
"Pleeeeessssssse help me," said the snake. "I am freezing. Pleeeeeeese take me down into the valley where it is warmer"
"I'm no dummy," said the farmer. "I know who you are. You are a rattlesnake. If I pick you up, you will poison me."
"Oh, no," said the snake. "I would not do that. I promisssssse that if you carry me down the mountain I will not bite you. You and your children will be ssssssafe from me and my kind from thisssss day forward."
The farmer had compassion on the snake and he picked the snake up and put it under his cloak. He carried it down into the valley and lay it down upon the ground. As the snake began to warm, he began to slither and move. He coiled up and struck, biting the farmer in the leg.
"Ow! You promised me that you would not bite me," cried the farmer.
"Ah," said the snake, "ssssso I did. But you knew what I was when you picked me up."

Democrats are out-voting Republicans in early voting by a ratio of almost 4-1. Record numbers are reported daily at the polls. If there isn't a big shift, very soon, Texas for the first time in long time, if not ever, could be a Blue State. California, New York, and Texas will guarantee a Democratic President if Texas ends up voting Democrat.

It's time the American people started paying attention to the fact that Barack Obama makes absolutely no sense during his speeches, and really and truly has no policy. However, I believe the effects of an Obama Presidency would devastate Liberalism as we know it today, and possibly put an end to it forever. Obama is Jimmy Carter squared. If we all survived his first term, the end of Liberalism might not be so bad.

Before you vote, become educated about who and what you're voting for exactly. Remember, this plus a $1.50...

The Right Man for the job

Not only is March 4th a very important day in determining which candidate will receive their respective party's nomination for President, but there is also a very close race for the 14th US Congressional District (South Texas).

The 14th Congressional seat will be determined March 4th, because there is not a Democrat runnning for the office. The race is between the incumbent Ron Paul and Businessman/CPA Chris Peden. Chris Peden is a family man, that understands the importance of protecting our nation's core conservative values. Chris Peden (to quote his website) is a "Pro-Family, Pro-Life Christian conservative who believes in free markets, smaller government, and individual responsibility."

Ron Paul calls himself part of the Reagan Revolution, and talks about how fond President Reagan was of him. I feel it safe to assume President Reagan would take great exception in Ron Paul's statements that our nation "deserved" the attacks of 9/11. Chris Peden understands the importance of maintaining an offensive against the extremist Islamic-Fascist regimes and strongly supports our nation's war on terrorism. Ron Paul wants to admit defeat, retreat, and put our head's in the sand and hope it will all just go away. Unfortunately, Mr. Paul, that would be economic, social, and political suicide. The effects that would have on our nation would be devastating. If we were to let the terrorists win, and retreat...I'd recommend everyone move to a remote part of Wyoming or the Dakotas. One thing is for certain, you won't want to be near major cities or ports because that's where the bombs will land.

It's time to stand up for ourselves and our nation, and elect a man to Congress that will REPRESENT his constituents, not just speak for them. We need a Congressman that will support conservative bills through the House and fight the Democrats attempts at bigger government, higher taxes, and weakened national security.

It's my honor to endorse Chris Peden for the 14th Congressional District seat in the US Congress. I encourage each and every one of you to do the same.
